AWE's mission statement is quite simple:
We hope to reflect a philosophy that integrity, quality, and people all matter. Our wish is to offer fine quality items that we can all feel good about: clothing, art, gifts that help create economic well being for those who create and/or labor each piece. That no child be exploited, nor any working condition be unreasonable, while keeping in mind concerns for our fragile environment.
Patty Joslyn and Larry Babic (and Charlie B ~ the little white dog) moved back east, to Cape Cod, from Northern California (Mendocino County, where we owned and operated natural fiber/fair-trade boutiques, among other ventures) to be closer to family. Patty originates from Massachusetts (West Boylston, and her grandparents home in South Yarmouth, where and when she was first introduced to the outdoor shower and not only fell in love with this concept but salt air and wild waves). Larry’s from central Vermont (Montpelier), where we raised our children, (Jesse, Dylan, Thea, and Clay) all now grown and doing wonderful things with their lives and hearts. Patty is a writer with an interest in most everything. Larry’s a fabulous woodturner and builder.
